Understanding your coverage options can help you focus on what matters most: your health and recovery. Here is what you need to know about paying for home health care services.
Medicare Coverage
Understanding how Medicare pays for home health care
Medicare covers home health care services when you meet certain conditions. If you are eligible, Medicare pays 100% of the approved amount for covered home health services. There is no deductible or coinsurance for home health care visits.
Medicare Eligibility Requirements
To qualify for Medicare-covered home health care, you must:
- Be enrolled in Medicare Part A or Part B
- Be considered "homebound" (leaving home requires considerable effort)
- Need intermittent skilled nursing care, physical therapy, speech therapy, or continued occupational therapy
- Have a face-to-face encounter with a physician who certifies your need for home health care
- Receive services from a Medicare-certified home health agency
Services Covered by Medicare
- Skilled nursing care on an intermittent basis
- Physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy
- Medical social services
- Home health aide services (when skilled care is also needed)
- Medical supplies and durable medical equipment

How Billing Works
In most cases, we bill your insurance company directly for covered services. You will receive an Explanation of Benefits (EOB) from your insurance company showing what was billed and what was covered. If there is any patient responsibility, we will send you a statement.
Payment Options
For any out-of-pocket costs or services not covered by insurance, we accept:
- Personal checks
- Major credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover)
- Electronic bank transfers
